Course Objectives In this three-day hands-on, Apache Kafka operations training course, you will learn to build and manage Kafka clusters using industry best practices developed by the world’s foremost Apache Kafka experts. You will learn how Kafka and the Confluent Platform work, their main subsystems, their functions, how they interact, and how to set up, manage, and tune your cluster. Course Duration Three days. Who Should Attend? This course is designed for engineers and operations staff responsible for building, managing, and tuning Kafka clusters. Course Prerequisites Attendees should have a strong knowledge of Linux/Unix, and understand basic TCP/IP networking concepts. Familiarity with the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) is helpful. No prior knowledge of Kafka is required. Participants are required to provide a laptop computer with unobstructed internet access to fully participate in the class. Course Content Overview Introduction Basic Kafka Concepts Kafka vs Other Messaging Systems Intra-Cluster Replication An Inside Look at Kafka’s Components Log Administration, Retention, and Compaction Hardware and Runtime Configurations Monitoring and Alerting Cluster Administration Securing Kafka Using Kafka Connect to Move Data Hands-On Exercises Throughout the course, Hands-On Exercises reinforce the topics being discussed.

CONDITIONS CANCELLATION AND REFUND The Client may cancel the participation in the courses at any time, by giving written notice to Bitrock s.r.l., by e-mail, to the address [email protected] It is also understood that, in case of cancellation, the Customer will be required to pay, as a penalty, a percentage of the individual payment equal to: Up to 30 days from the start of the course: None Between 30 and 10 days from the start of the course: 50% 9 days or less, or no communication: 100% The substitution of the participants can be accepted at any time before the reception of the course activation official e-mail (usually 2 or 3 days before the start date), provided it is communicated in writing. COURSE CANCELLATION Bitrock s.rl. reserves the right to cancel or postpone the course, giving notice (via e-mail or telephone) to the Client within 1 week of the course start date. Any fees already received will be returned to the Customer or, in agreement with the same, will be charged as advance payment for eventual enrollment in courses on subsequent dates.
